The Relais is in the historical centre of Bettona, a village with an Etruscan heritage, and is in a beautiful old building that has been sensitively restored to nestle unobtrusively in the old centre. Next to the Relais is the Oratory of Saint Andrew with its wonderful frescoes and paintings by Perugino, Tiberio di Assisi and Dono Doni. There are nineteen rooms in the Relais, which retains brick vaulting, exposed wooden roof beams, and brick arches, but the rooms have a contemporary, simple style with dark wood floors and muted grey and blue fabrics (all with full bathrooms). An annex building connected to the original has additional suites and junior suites, all elegantly furnished and comfortable. The sitting room/reception area is filled with modern art and is a delightful place to relax before dinner. There is also a gallery in the Relais which holds regular art exhibitions. The building is full of surprises, with a swimming pool, sauna, state of the art fitness centre and wonderful rooftop terraces and a superb restaurant in the vaulted lower floor, which was once an olive oil mill. The typical Umbrian and Italian dishes are delicious. The hotel also has a enoteca close by, where wine tasting can be organised. Gym, swimming pool incuded in price of room.
