The hotel takes 50% deposit 30 days prior to arrival and the rest of the prepayment 15 days prior to arrival will be taken by the hotel. Casperia is a walled medieval village in the Sabine hills, a relatively undiscovered part of Italy in terms of tourism. The village itself is pedestrian only, and after entering through the remains of the old fortified gateways, the winding streets lead to La Toretta, a 15th century palazzetto, beautifully renovated by the current owners. With just 6 double rooms (two are interconnecting which work well for family use) that are all ensuite and prettily but simply decorated, there are some lovely views over the terra cotta rooftops and cobble streets to the Sabine Hills. There is a large sitting area with enormous fireplace, and breakfast and dinner (if organized in advance) are served on an upper floor where there is a terrace with superb panoramic views. The area is rich in natural beauty and offers the opportunity to visit many historical and archeological sites as well as Latium, Umbria and Tuscany. There is a 10% reduction on stay of 7 nights or more.

The hosts are wonderful, very warm and friendly. The village is medieval and there are 100's of cats popping up there heads as you walk through the 'streets' at night. Maureen conducts cooking classes at her establishment and arranges for classes at a local agrotourismo. She invited us to a really fun wine and olive oil tasting.
