Many years of work and loving attention to detail have culminated in the excellent restoration of this eighteenth century residence in an unspoiled area of Piedmont. Franca, Luigi and Giovanni Dezzani, third generation winemakers and owners with the Bordonaro family, will warmly welcome you to the Locanda. It is located in the historic heart of the ancient community of Cocconato - a perfect starting point for any itinerary to discover the Lower Monferrato. The Locanda is an elegant building, an integral part of and deeply rooted in the urban structure of the town. There are six spacious rooms and three luxury suites each with full bathroom, minibar, a kettle, television and internet access. The room decor befits this elegant house - high ceilings, rich colours and comfortable furniture (with four poster beds in some of the suites). Some rooms have one big bed and others have twin beds. The restaurant is indeed special, with new enogastronomic cuisine by Marta and Luigi Bordonaro.

Notes One essential when you visit Piedmont is visiting its wineries. Most wineries welcome visitors to their vineyards, the winery and tastings. These are usually free, but do call ahead, especially to smaller wineries.

The hotel itself was very pleasant. Our room was very spacious and the bathroom seemed recently updated with heated tile floors. There were also several common rooms that were comfortably decorated.

The town was quite small with only a couple of restaurants, many of which were not open. Although it was nice to avoid tourists, there wasn't much to do without taking long drives.”
