The hotel reqiures a deposit of 1/3 of total amount. Rates for this property change depending upon events taking place in the city. We will confirm current room rate at the time of your enquiry. The Relais is located not far from the town of Colle Val d'Elsa, conveniently located close to the road that leads to some of the most significant towns of the Chianti-Valdelsa area. The building in which the Relais is housed was originally an 11th century abbey and at the end of the 13th century Cardinal Giuliano della Rovere added an opulent house for himself and future bishops. The abbey and house belonged to the church for 400 years. In 1999 it was masterfully converted into a very comfortable small hotel, with wonderful facilities. The ensuite rooms are spacious and furnished with some wonderful antiques and with every possible modern convenience (satellite television, telephone with internet access, air conditioning, hydromassage baths). The rooms are decorated with whimsical touches of frescoes reflecting the Della Rovere coat of arms connection, and with lovely fabrics. Some rooms are in the Villa and others are in the Abbey (the Abbey rooms are of a different, and interesting, modern design). There is also a very good restaurant Il Cardinale, housed within the Abbey complex, which serves regional and Italian cuisine. The relais is in a pretty park where there is a swimming pool and terrace and plenty of space to walk or relax. The hotel offers some exceptional 3 or 5 night packages.

Notes Good location for weddings or for small retreats. The town is well known for its crystal production (and tours can be organized). The restaurant Arnolfi in the old town of Colle is two star Michelin rated. Wine tasting in the Enoteca at the Relais.
