The Abbey San Pietro in Valle is a splendid historical residence, located in Umbria between the Marmore Waterfalls and Spoleto, completely surrounded by the green Nerina Valley. Run by Federica, Letizia and Chiara the three sisters who own and manage this little gem, you will be warmly greeted and taken care of. Most of the rooms are located in the antique cells of the Benedictine monks, or in the forestry grounds of the convent. Some have fireplaces, all are comfortable, unique and very special. You may take breakfast outside in the cloister yard during the warm season - the buffet includes the marmalades of Chiara, the torts and the homemade cake, the fresh bread of Arrone, the fresh fruit of local farmer friends and fruit juices, sausage, cheese, yogurt, butter, honey, croissants and eggs on request. There is a bar in the reception area (and service is also provided in the rooms, the garden, the cloister or the refectory). The Il Cantico restaurant serves excellent regional cuisine. The Abbey is an ideal place to relax and to enjoy various body treatments and massages provided by specialised staff. What makes the Abbazia San Pietro unique is the wonderful, ageless atmosphere.
Notes The Abbey is located inside the Park of the Nera River, 13 km from the Marmore waterfalls. Rafting, walking and hiking, trekking, mountain bike, horseback riding.

The setting is spectacular. The staff - 3 sisters - speak good English and are most helpful and welcoming. The history of the building is fascinating. Breakfast was very good indeed. The room is comfortably air conditioned and we slept well despite the very hot climate during July. Their restaurant was not open when we were there.
