This very pretty little castle is located in the centre of a medieval hamlet, perched on the top of a hill - and is a truly special place. The village is 510 metres above sea level at the south eastern border of the Chianti, midway between Siena and Arezzo. The surrounding countryside is beautiful with vineyards, olive groves and woods. There are six double rooms and three suites, all elegantly furnished with art and antiques and yet with every modern convenience. There is a wonderful rooftop terrace and just a few steps from the hotel is a very pretty park with swimming pool and pavillion -- a lovely place for outdoor picnics. There is no restaurant at the hotel (but there is a good restaurant just a few steps away, open every day except Tuesday) and there are many restaurants in the vicinity to visit by car. Unusually, the room rates include all drinks in the lounge or from your own minibar, and a full buffet breakfast. Because of the style of accommodation, the castelleto is not suitable for children under 14.
Family Information
To accomodate a family of 3 you will need a Junior Suite. For a family of 4 you're going to need two rooms. Not suitable for children under 14.
Notes The most celebrated cities of art in Tuscany - Siena, Arezzo, Cortona, San Gimigniano, Montepulciano, Pienza and Montalcino - are within easy driving distance. The natural hot pools of Rapolano are worth visiting. This is a no-smoking inn. The inn is in the countryside but is close to the road that leads to 'the Mall' an outlet for Prada, Fendi, Dolce and Gabbana (but perhaps this should be kept a secret). Honeymoon packages and special event packages possible.
