Deposit of 1 night required in high season. The restaurant is closed every Monday. For half board 3 nights minimum stay is required. Located just a short walk from the walled town of Montefalco, Villa Pambuffetti is surrounded by a large, pretty park. The 200 year old Villa has an interesting history, having been a favourite of the poet D'Annunzio and, of which, Herman Hesse wrote 'Outside the town I found a magnificent garden of an isolated villa..there I rested in the shade of old cypresses and admired the alternating of vast shadows and fine rays of sun in the green valley'. Montefalco has grown considerably since those words were written, but in the garden of the Villa it is easy to feel the tranquillity of the place. The 15 rooms and suites (all with full bathrooms) are decorated with antique furniture, much of which was originally in the Villa, and the rich woods, carpets and large welcoming fireplace in the lounge add to the friendly ambience. There is an charming restaurant which features typically Umbrian cuisine, and the Villa is one of the original proponents of Culinary tourism, and offers many cooking class packages (they come highly recommended). The staff at the hotel are particularly friendly and knowledgeable about the area and have prepared many itineraries for guests (Montefalco-Spello-Assisi; Montefalco-Bevagna-Torgiono-Deruta, and several longer itineraries).

Notes Cooking classes and wine tasting tours can be arranged by the hotel. A 3 night package (min. 2 people) including 3 night stay, half board, 2 cooking classes, lunch is 660 euros per person in a double room. Check-in days for the package of Sunday, Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday only. One day cooking classes are also offered.
