Just a few minutes from the centre of Orta, and in a very old park on the shores of the lake, Villa Crespi has just six rooms and eight suites. A most unusual design, with minarets and Moorish interiors with arches, frescoes and domes, it is a surprise to see Lake Orta through the mullioned windows. Under the management of the Primatesta family, who pay great attention to detail in both design and hospitality, you will find friendly staff, a renowned restaurant and a relaxing place to stay. The rooms are spacious and are decorated with furniture and paintings from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, frescoed ceilings, refined bathrooms with Jacuzzi bath. Each room has its own unique personality. Some of the rooms have a balcony, lake views and king-size bed. Others have garden views, and all have satellite television, direct dial telephone, minibar and safety deposit box. The elegant restaurant offers a tasting menu or a menu à la Carte with Mediterranean and regionally inspired cuisine. The wine list has more than a thousand labels. Evening events and the "Gastronomic weeks" have delighted guests from around the world, and all is presided over by Chef Antonio Cannavacciuolo. Fitness and beauty packages are available.

Our Feedback
Rating: Excellent “(No Comment)” Rating: Very Good “The grounds were beautiful and the buildings
impressive, and it's so nice to see such a
complex being restored to use. Not very
soundproof, though. A word about food would
have been nice: because we got so lost
looking for the place,we hadn't eaten, and
as far out as La Cartuja is, there was no
restaurantavailable so late at night, nor
even a vending machine. (And normally, I
think vending machines are bad...)Breakfast
was dry toast, wonderful homemade jams, and
coffee. The people were very friendly and
accomodating,however, even though we'd made
them wait so long for our late arrival.” Rating: Average “I give this one only a satisfactory rating
somewhat reluctantly because we unfortunately
had a couple things happen to make our stay
less than great. We had no hot water the one
day ... and we didn't get much more than a
weak apology from the staff, let alone any
kind of minor discount on our room rate. We
also felt the food we were served for dinner,
while quite good, was too expensive for what
we got. The place itself is very interesting
amidst the ruins, but it seemed to us it
still needs some work! And it was a little
more out of the way than what we had
expected!” Rating: Average “As above. Swimming pool was a big disappointment. Should not be advertised on the site. Rooms were pleasant but not luxiourous. We stayed in a Parador for the same price which was far superior. Excellent surroundings and views.”
