Casa Palmira is a simple, but very attractive, rural inn in the heart of the countryside, just 9 km. from the Etrusco-Roman village of Fiesole and 16 km. from Florence (there is actually a bus that runs fairly close to the inn to Florence a few times a day). The house is on an ancient road leading from the Renaissance city to the cooler climes of the Mugello (the summer residence of the Medici family), making it an ideal base for visiting the fascinating surrounding towns and cities while relaxing in the pastoral Fiorentine hills. Assunta and Stefano, your hosts, are very helpful and friendly and can give you much advice on what to do and see in the area. The rooms are simple, most with private bath, and in the triple room it is possible to add one extra bed (cost of 20 euros). They are prettily decorated and very comfortable. There is a garden with pergola and barbecue, and in the sitting/breakfast room is a large fireplace. Dinners may be ordered in advance any day except Saturday and Sunday, but there is a good restaurant within 15 minutes walk or five minutes drive from the inn. Breakfasts are delicious.

Beautiful Bed and Breakfast, lovely warm welcome from the hosts, garden was lovely, had great fun walking back from the restaurant to the sound of all the crickets. (Take a torch!!)
Didn't Like:
Road was noisy with motorbikes racing, ideal if you are a motorsport fan. Not much choice of restaurants if you don't want to drive.”
