Apartment: minimum stay 3 nights. Via Cavour is an historical street in Rome and this small bed and breakfast inn on the fourth floor of the Real Umbertine building (from the 1800's) is a central, low-key place to stay. It is located just a few steps from the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, from Piazza di Spagna, and is close to buses, the air terminal connections and the termini station. It is about an hour's walk to the Vatican from here. The owners and staff are friendly and helpful. From several of the rooms there is a great view of Rome's skyline and there is a quiet rooftop terrace. The furnishings are simple yet comfortable, with plasma television, and there are modern bathrooms with jacuzzi showers. The windows are double glazed so the inn is fairly quiet for its central location. Gianluca, the owner, speaks little English, but is a charming host and will do his best to make your stay enjoyable. Breakfast will be delivered to your room in the morning (time by prior arrangement). This is an intimate little place where you will feel totally independent and safe.

If cancelled up to 10 days prior to the reservation date there is no hotel penalty. If cancelled 10 days or less prior to arrival 50% of the total booking will be charged by the hotel. In case of no show or a cancellation during a stay the hotel will charge 100% of the stay.

The location is fabulous- especially if you need access to the train station. The room was comfortable with operable windows for fresh air. We borrowed a Lonley Planet Rome book which was quite helpful in making our sightseeing plans.
