Villa Il Poggiale is first mentioned in 1408 when the Corsini family purchased it. The exterior has a wide Renaissance Loggia and the elegant Pietra Serena framing doors and windows, date back to the 16th century. There is a large central courtyard and beautiful park with cypress trees, roses and shrubs surrounding the Villa. There is also a large swimming pool in the very relaxing garden. The interior is full of frescoes, beautifully painted doors and sumptuous furnishings. Only 17 km. from Florence (a bus from the village can be taken), it is an ideal quiet place in the heart of Chianti Classico country. There are junior suites (which can sleep 3), double rooms, suites and apartments in the Villa, and all are delightfully furnished and have private bathrooms, air conditioning, small fridge, kettle for coffee or tea, satellite television and internet connection. Each guest has keys to the Villa for total independence (reception is open from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.) Villa Il Poggiale has an indoor restaurant, "LA TINAIA", open from April through October, offering a typical Tuscan specialties buffet dinner; an honesty bar is available in the lounge. A light lunch may be served by the pool in the summer. Breakfast is buffet style and is delicious. There is now a wellness center inside the Villa, which has been created to complement a stay at the Villa. The wellness center has been specifically designed for Villa Il Poggiale and offers treatments with natural products from the Tuscan territory such as grapes, citrus fruits,olives, honey and essential oils. Massages and other beauty treatments are available at the Villa on Monday and Wednesday mornings (which should be booked in advance). You will receive a friendly, warm welcome at the Villla - the staff are attentive and helpful.

Notes Cooking lessons may be arranged with advanced notice. There are Shopping Outlets within easy driving distance. There is excellent hiking in the vicinity. This is a perfect location for weddings and complete arrangements can be made by staff at the Villa. The swimming pool is open from May 15 to October 15. Transfer from Florence airport by car 39 euros. There are special offers including Frescoes in Tuscany, Cooking classes, wine tasting classes and truffle tours. Ask us for details.
