Erected on the Poreta Hills in the XII century, Silvignano is a villa of the medieval Spoleto County that is 600 m. above sea level, opposite the "Rocche di Pianciano". In the village are remarkable medieval ruins such as the XIV century votive chapel with original frescos of the "Maestro di Fossa" and the churches of Saint Matthew and Saint John, as well as ruins from the XII century. "LE LOGGE di SILVIGNANO" is one of the most remarkable medieval buildings in all of Spoleto County. A magnificent Open Gallery with octagonal pillars, added in the fifteenth-century, embellishes its facade. A stay at Le Logge di Silvignano will be very peaceful, although it is strategically located for visiting the area which is rich in cultural and recreation opportunities. The cultural and natural beauties of Montefalco, Bevagna, Assisi, and the waterfalls of Valnerina and Marmore are all only a few km away, and the nearby Clitunno Springs offers sport centers and a swimming pool. There is no restaurant at the Logge but regional cuisine is served in a wide variety of local restaurants and "trattorie", and extravirgin olive oil and regional D.O.C. wines can be tasted at the local olive presses and wine cellars. The five suites are all uniquely decorated: The Arches, with its stone and cross vaults has its entrance from the main garden which has a panoramic view of the valley of Montefalco. Elia is a romantic suite with a large living room with a functioning fireplace. The bedroom hides an original dungeon, now a comfortable dressing room. Suite Iride has a panormanic view of the Montefalco and Assisi valleys from its five fifteenth century windows. In the living room is an original "cotto" fireplace and stone stoop and the decoration includes wood beams, cotto bricks, warm and embracing materials. Elia Due is a penthouse overlooking Silvignano roofs, with a loft bedroom and includes a private small roof garden looking down to the valley. Loggiato has three warm and stylish rooms, with three doors giving access to the Open Gallery. The floors are paved with the old original "cotto" bricks, and there are two old XV century fireplaces and the bedroom has a canopy bed. From the Open Gallery is an amazing overview of the valley of Montefalco. This Suite is large enough for a second couple.
