Immersed in nature, between the sea and Etna, and a few minutes from the historical town center of Taormina (but away from the town noise and bustle) is this genuine aristocratic Sicilian villa, where ancient traditions live in perfect harmony alongside the most sophisticated comforts. The rooms are spacious and have been decorated in a typically Sicilian style with painted ceramics created by local artisans, comfortable beds in wrought iron and terracotta flooring, and with modern comforts of satellite TV, radio, minibar, hair dryer, remote controlled air conditioning, mini safe, direct telephone line. In April 2004 five new luxurious suites were added. All the rooms have private terraces with lovely views of the sea and Etna. There is a pleasant terrace with a spectacular view where breakfast is served, and a delightful Mediterranean garden. The strategic position of Hotel Villa Ducale combines the convenience of being close to the town center, but is away from the bustle of the town. The town center of Taormina can be reached in about 10 to 15 minutes on foot, or using the free bus service provided by the hotel or the public bus system. A lovely beach is about 4km from the hotel and can be easily reached using the hotel's free minibus service. Private parking is available for 10 euros a day.
Notes Taormina, with its spectacular Greek Theatre and its Arab-Norman buildings, is not to be missed. Not far from the Hotel, you will find Castelmola, an ancient Medieval village, Isolabella, an uncontaminated oasis and Etna, a paradise for naturalists and lovers of good food: the former will dedicate their time to climbing the volcano, while the latter will have the chance to taste some of the typical food and wine products from the area. Trains coming from Rome and the North of Italy directed towards Siracusa and Agrigento, stop at the Train Station, "Taormina-Giardini Naxos" which is approx. 5 km from the center of Taormina. To reach the Hotel Villa Ducale from the station, you can take the bus or a private taxi (cost, approx. 20 Euros).
