This eight room hotel is 50 meters from the Grand Canal, situated in the Rialto neighborhood and may be easily reached on foot or by public transport. Just a few steps away from one of the most popular places in the city, the Rialto market, where art and history meet. At the Locanda there are traditional floors "alla Veneziana" and typical local lead-latticed windows – created by Murano glass masters. The inn offers a complete array of modern services provided in the best hotels. This mix of tradition and modernity has been the guiding spirit of Gianfranco and Marco, the young Venetian owners, in overseeing every detail of this residence. Every morning, for example, particular care is paid to breakfast, served (upon request) either at the dining hall or in your room. In the evening, you may participate in a “briefing” that includes suggestions and detailed recommendations to help our guests see places that are less likely to be visited by the common tourist, and discover with little effort the magic, history and mystery of the city: from Ugo Pratt’s Imaginary Venice (adapted from his Corto Maltese drawings and texts) to a Venice of fun and pleasure of the old taverns. Each room is named after a famous historical venetian personality and evokes in its style and interior furnishings the atmosphere of a period residence. All rooms include private bathrooms, heating and air-conditioning, hair-dryers, satellite TVs, direct-line telephones, Internet connections, safes and mini-bars. A number of rooms are also handicapped accessible. Credit cards are accepted at Locanda Arco Antico. In additional to Arco Antico there are 5 apartments located in the center of the city. These apartments must be paid in cash and breakfast is not included.
Notes Only five-minutes’ walk to the Scuola Grande of San Rocco, the Basilica of the Frari, Ca’ Pesaro Modern Art Museum, as well as the Rialto Bridge and Campo San Polo – which is an important venue during the Venice Carnival and during the Venice Film Festival (when the square is turned into an open-air cinema). But there are additional attractions beyond art: everyday Venetian life among small arts and crafts shops, fascinating voices and colors which make Venice such a unique city with no equals in the world.

The breakfast could be improved a bit possibly by adding some fresh fruit and granola.

our first room was on the ground floor - large but a bit dark because of half-size windows - would have been ok if not for the noise all night! sounded like rats racing through the air conditioner ducts! the owners suggested that it was a rabbit in the apartment above - but I hope to never meet a rabbit that large! happily, we were moved to another room the next night with no further problems.” Rating: Average
